Kill Teen Angst
From humble beginnings, prodigious things grow. As seasoned veterans of the Perth indie scene,
Kill Teen Angst have worked hard to emerge as one of the finest purveyors of indie rock’n’roll in
the country.
It’s true when they say that the simple things are often the best. Solid rhythms drive interweaving
guitar lines, and vocals scream rather than lull, built on the theory that if it’s not loud enough,
you’re not listening to it properly. Kill Teen Angst have carved their own niche through a love of
Mogwai’s dramatic, noise-fuelled intensity and Archers Of Loaf’s raw pop sensibilities – the
juxtaposition between power and melody making this band stand apart from their peers. Where
others excel in one area or the other, Kill Teen Angst collide the two worlds and tear them apart.
In 2007, the band supported the likes of British India, Cut Off Your Hands, Die! Die! Die! and
Kisschasy amongst others, won the WAM “Rock Song of the Year” award for their track ‘The
World Or Nothing’, and completed an 11 date statewide tour of Western Australia with Jebediah.
In 2008 the band signed with Good Cop Bad Cop records, releasing their Debut EP to critical
acclaim and followed it up with their first national tour. After racking up more prestigious supports
with the likes of Pennywise, Dukes Of Windsor, Magic Dirt, Cog, Mammal & Children Collide,
the band got straight back in to the studio to record their debut album with renowned producer
Dave Parkin (Snowman, Red Jezebel).
Kill Teen Angst’s first single “Small Town, Small Children” from their forthcoming debut album,
will be released as a digital download via iTunes on 17th January 2009.
